We went to Seattle over the July 4th holiday with our friends John and Amanda. As expected, great times were had by all. We had great hosts, drank great beer and got great weather. We couldn't have asked for a better trip and it was a great reminder of why I love the Pacific Northwest. Click the picture above to see more.

We went to see Radiohead last night and the combination of having pit tickets, great lights, great sound and an impeccable performance made this quite a memorable show. Radiohead are a band at the top of their game. Click the image above to see the full set.

Click the image to see the first set of our Costa Rica trip. This set is our San Jose leg. We really only spent a day here because the rest of the country is more interesting than the capital. You're probably wondering why there are so many painted cows. Apparently, it's a big thing to paint up these cows and the best ones win awards and they are sold off and donated to some kind of international charity. We happened to be there right when they were finishing up.

While in San Jose we took a day trip to Heredia to visit Cafe Britt for a tour. Great tasting coffee and much cheaper there than in the US.

After leaving San Jose and heading up to the Arenal Volcano the trip really started to get good. Our place at the Arenal Paraiso had a great view of the volcano and we did three tours - the Hanging Bridges, La Fortuna Waterfall, and Volcano Hike. The amount of things we saw was incredible.

Our fourth and final leg was one of the best of the trip. We headed to the popular area of Manuel Antonio which is right past Quepos. Here we hiked a ton of trails in Manuel Antonio National Park and spent time on the beach and swimming in the Pacific.

If you're wondering what the deal is with the old military plane then go to the El Avion website. The short story is that this one of two planes (the other shot down in Nicaragua) that essentially blew the doors open on the top secret Iran-Contra scandal that Ollie North and the Reagan Administration was running in the 80's. It was a fascinating piece of history that is now a bar and part of the restaurant.
